On the afternoon of October 20, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (USSH, VNUHCM) organized the first “Humanities Impression” contest to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930 – October 20, 2023) and to welcome the 6th Congress of the VNUHCM Trade Union.
Attending the event, representatives from the VNUHCM Trade Union included Mr. Tran Anh Cuong, M.A, Chairman of the Trade Union. From USSH, VNUHCM were Dr. Pham Tan Ha, Vice President; Dr. Phan Thanh Dinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President; along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Chairman of the University Trade Union; Mr. Ho Quang Trinh, Vice Chairman; leaders of faculties and departments, lecturers, staff, and 18 competing teams.
In his opening remarks, on behalf of University leadership, Dr. Phan Thanh Dinh extended his congratulations to all female staff and employees of the University. He also acknowledged their significant contributions to the development of the University in particular and VNUHCM as a whole.
“I would like to express sincere gratitude to all women who have continuously contributed to the development of the University, the city, and the country. With respect, appreciation, and affection, I wish all women at the University a joyful, happy, and successful day,” he shared.

The “Humanities Impression” contest consisted of two main rounds. In the first round, teams showcased traditional or office attire combined with talent performances such as singing, dancing, drama, poetry recitation, magic, circus acts... The top eight teams advanced to the final round, where they competed in a situational response challenge.

Throughout the competition, participating teams demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and distinctive identities. The grand prize was awarded to the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies for their performance featuring traditional costumes representing the three regions of Vietnam, combined with a vibrant dance act. The first prize went to the Faculty of Archival Science and Office Management; the second prize was awarded to the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies and the Faculty of Urban Studies; the third prize went to the Library, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the joint team from the Office of Inspectorate – Legality – Intellectual Property and the Office of Human Resource Management. The remaining teams received consolation prizes.

The contest attracted enthusiastic support from audiences across various units, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. It provided a healthy platform that promoted cultural exchange and artistic interaction among staff and employees. Moreover, the event fostered stronger connections among units, contributing to the development of a friendly educational environment and a positive workplace culture.
