On August 28, 1945, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established with President Ho Chi Minh directly serving as Minister. Over 70 years of construction and development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made significant contributions to the victories in the wars of resistance against foreign invaders, the protection of national independence and unification, as well as the cause of national construction and protection today. The book “Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 70 years of construction and development 1945-2015” was compiled with the desire to build a complete and comprehensive collection on the history of modern Vietnamese diplomacy, to summarize the paths already traveled, and to synthesize valuable lessons of revolutionary diplomacy according to the ideology and style of Ho Chi Minh. Readers will find useful information that has not been officially published regarding the process of building and perfecting the organizational structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the process of striving, training, and growing of the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the past 70-year historical journey. The book will contribute to helping generations of diplomatic officials today and in the future, especially young officials, understand and be more proud of the arduous but glorious journey of previous generations, thereby having more awareness and motivation to strive to contribute even more actively to the successful implementation of the foreign policy of the Party and State in the new era.
