Currently, the Vietnamese community abroad is growing stronger, increasing in number, expanding in territory, and at the same time, the role, position, and prestige of the community in the host society are increasingly enhanced. In order to proactively and actively promote the potential and soft power in international integration, implement national development goals and strategies, and contribute to promoting the strength of great national unity, in-depth research on the Vietnamese community abroad plays an important role in contributing to favorable support for the Vietnamese community abroad to stabilize their lives, preserve the Vietnamese national identity, and look towards, build, and protect the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Formed from the project “Basic characteristics of people and culture of the Vietnamese community abroad”, the book “Vietnamese community abroad: characteristic cultural features” analyzes from a cross-cultural perspective the people, current situation and cultural characteristics, and trends of cultural identity transformation of the Vietnamese-origin community abroad. From there, it provides scientific arguments for the policy planning of the Party and State in strengthening great unity, preserving and promoting national cultural identity, including promoting the strengths of the Vietnamese community abroad. Hopefully, this book will help us better understand the culture in particular and the identity of the Vietnamese community in the world in general. We would like to respectfully introduce it! |
