"Slower than a stop" is a journey of thoughts where every movement from the abstract (wind, water, shadow, memory...) to the concrete (child, wood pile, town, boat, toe...) leads to the same ultimate outcome of being "slower than a stop". Does this ultimate outcome lead us to the meaninglessness of life, when all movements, whether according to laws, subjectivity, or objectivity, are "slower than a stop"? But if one gets lost in every word by Tran Tuan, one will understand that "stopping without standing still" is what he wants to convey. And in this particular aspect, "Slower than a stop" is a poetic art form, a key for readers to open, enter, and explore the world of his poetry. "caressing green fingers fondling the white breast hill the headscarf fluttering in silence unable to draw any more faces the wind still blows but slower than a stop the town like a young woman becoming thinner becoming lighter drifting with the shawl" We would like to introduce it to readers! |
