On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution, the Information and Communications Publishing House releases the poetry collection Wait for Me. The title of the book is taken from the work by Konstantin Simonov. The poem was translated into Vietnamese by poet To Huu in 1947, having a special influence and significance on the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the French.
The poetry collection includes 180 poems by 24 most prominent poets of the Great Patriotic War poetry such as Simonov, Olga Berggolts, Tvardovsky, Anna Akhmatova, Yevtushenko… The works selected in this collection realistically reflect the war, thereby demonstrating the character of the Russian people and Russian culture. That war was cruel and tragic, yet heroic and full of optimism and faith.
The collection was born with the desire to bring Vietnamese readers an understanding and empathy for the defensive war of the Soviet people and for Soviet literature. The Wait for Me poetry collection is expected to contribute as a bridge between Russian literature and Vietnamese literature.
