The Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on English Language Teaching 2020 (ICELT 2020) with the theme “ELT for Lifelong Learning in the New Decade” is a collection of studies on English teaching and learning, aimed at the spirit of lifelong learning as education enters a new decade. The conference was organized by the Faculty of English Linguistics and Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City on December 17 and 18, 2020, continuing the series of international conferences held biennially since 2012.
The proceedings include 42 research papers selected from 72 presentations and posters, with contributions from students, lecturers, experts, researchers, and professionals both domestically and internationally. The works cover diverse issues in English language teaching such as lifelong learning, growth mindset, critical thinking, learning motivation, technology application, online teaching and learning, translation and interpretation, testing and assessment, language skills, and intercultural language education. Thereby, the proceedings provide research updates and practical experiences, while contributing to promoting academic exchange within the English teaching community.
