Nano science and technology is a discipline that investigates and understands the characteristics of extremely small matter to manipulate and overlap these materials to build larger objects. The method of building from small to large and even larger is called the "bottom-up" approach. The emergence of nano science and technology is revolutionizing the mindset and design methodology for all types of materials, from therapeutic drugs to electronic components with characteristics predetermined at the molecular scale. Nanotechnology is a contemporary technological tsunami, the applications of which are gradually emerging, exploding, and will create a powerful impact on human social life. The core of nanotechnology revolves around methods of fabricating nanomaterials, investigating their chemical, physical, mechanical, optical, electrical, and magnetic properties, and seeking applications for these materials. Using simple language, this book clarifies the origin and meaning of nano science and technology. The book also describes the creativity of scientists in simulating nature to create nanomaterials with application potentials ranging from miniaturizing electronic components to treating cancer.
