Ten Days That Shook the World is one of the greatest books about the Russian October Revolution. The author of the book, John Reed, an American journalist, was present in Russia during the days of the great revolution, witnessing crucial moments and meeting countless figures on both sides: revolutionary and counter-revolutionary. Thus, under the author's pen, the progress of the revolution appears honest, vivid, and exceptionally detailed. Readers feel as though they are immersed in the bustling, fervent atmosphere at the Smolny Institute – where revolutionaries worked day and night to plan actions; sensing clearly the tense atmosphere in the meeting rooms at the Duma Palace – where reactionary forces were devising hundreds of schemes to obstruct the progress of the revolution, etc...

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the victory of the Russian October Revolution (1917-2017), the General Publishing House of Ho Chi Minh City publishes the work Ten Days That Shook the World based on the 1977 print of the Literature Publishing House, translated by translators Dang The Binh and Truong Dac Vy from the original English version with references to the French edition. In this edition, the publisher has converted proper names into English for the convenience of readers in researching and learning more about the October Revolution.

We hope this book will help readers perceive the great magnitude and significance of the Russian October Revolution, thereby increasing their faith and steady steps on the path of proletarian revolution that the Party, Uncle Ho, and previous generations have chosen and adhered to for over 80 years.
