          When mentioning Korea, many people immediately think of the land of kimchi, ginseng, romantic dramas, and world-famous K-Pop songs. However, somewhere in small alleys or roadside eateries, there are interesting stories that not everyone knows.

          Contemporary Korean Short Stories consists of 12 short stories representing slices of life across various realistic facets of Korea through human relationships, especially the ways in which young people perceive and adapt to dramatic economic, political, and socio-cultural changes. With a realistic yet philosophically profound and romantic surreal writing style, the 12 short stories seem to open up magical artistic worlds, expressing the rich shades of the Korean soul and reflecting the characteristic features of life in the land of Kimchi.
