University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City announces 2026 Master's degree admissions (Round 2)
Admissions for 24 master's degree majors
In the second round of 2026, the University is recruiting for 24 majors, including: Journalism, Asian Studies, Political Science, Social Work, Ethnology, Tourism, Geography, Urban Studies, Han-Nom, Korean Studies, Library Science, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnamese History, Archival Science, Linguistics, French Language, Chinese Language, Anthropology, International Relations, Resource and Environmental Management, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Vietnamese Literature, and Sociology.
Depending on the major and applicant category, the University applies the following forms: direct admission; admission based on transcripts and interview results; or a combination of entrance examination and admission. For the combined form, applicants should review essay topics, oral examination study outlines, and prepare their application according to the guidance of the Academic Affairs Office.
The entrance examination is expected to take place on October 24 and 25, 2026. Admission results will be announced approximately one month after the exam date. The training program lasts 2 years, with classes expected to commence in January 2027.
Application submission period and notes for applicants
For direct admission and admission-based forms, the University receives applications from the date of the announcement until September 7, 2026. For the combined entrance examination and admission form, the application deadline is October 2, 2026.
Applicants must enter their application information into the University's online registration system. After completing the information on the website, applicants should download the application form, complete the hard copy, and submit it to the Academic Affairs Office before the specified deadline.
Graduates with a degree in a related or different major than the one they are applying for must complete supplementary knowledge courses as required. The deadline for registering for supplementary knowledge courses is August 21, 2026; the study period is expected to be from August 24 to October 9, 2026. Classes will only be opened if a sufficient number of students register.
The announcement also specifies requirements for admission conditions, foreign language proficiency, cases exempt from foreign language assessment, and priority policies. Foreign language certificates used in the application must be valid for 2 years from the date of issue to the date of application.
The admission service fee is 1,050,000 VND/applicant; the re-examination fee is 100,000 VND for applications involving essay reviews; the fee for supplementary knowledge courses is 600,000 VND/credit.
