It is truly astonishing and a source of pride that a person who lived nearly 100 years, having endured imprisonment, the perilous and arduous moments of a revolutionary life, and carrying many heavy responsibilities as one of the leaders of the nation, Comrade Pham Van Dong remained a person of sharp intellect, a warm heart, and a simple, pure lifestyle. In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Comrade Pham Van Dong's birth, the General Publishing House of Ho Chi Minh City has published the book "Our Prime Minister Pham Van Dong". With 50 articles by many authors, Part I of the book vividly and clearly portrays the portrait of Prime Minister Pham Van Dong from various angles. Under different titles, authors Nguyen Tien Nang, Tran Kien, Nguyen Thi Deo, Doan Minh Tuan, Viet Phuong, Vo Thi Thang, Nguyen Dich, Tran Quan Ngoc... all share a close and affectionate sentiment about an uncle, a brother, a comrade, and a fellow countryman who was both strict and profound, righteous and full of love. Part II consists of 12 selected articles, demonstrating the author's profound reading, understanding, and capacity for generalization. Pham Van Dong wrote about prominent figures such as Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Du, Nguyen Dinh Chieu, and Ho Chi Minh with a flexible penmanship imbued with emotion and persuasive power.
