Seminar "Improving the Quality of Undergraduate Training to Meet the Requirements of Integration and Innovation Following the AUN-QA Approach" on June 5, 2020

Attending the seminar were Dr. Pham Tan Ha, Vice President of the University; along with representatives of leadership from various departments and units, educational researchers, lecturers, researchers, students, and postgraduate students from various training institutions both inside and outside the university: Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, VNUHCM-University of Technology, VNUHCM-University of Science, VNUHCM-University of Economics and Law, An Giang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Ton Duc Thang University, Hoa Sen University, Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Foreign Trade University, Lac Hong University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment, Thu Dau Mot University, Nha Trang University, Khanh Hoa University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education Management,... as well as Heads/Deputy Heads and specialized staff of the Quality Assurance groups from various faculties, departments, offices, divisions, and centers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

The seminar "Improving the Quality of Undergraduate Training to Meet the Requirements of Integration and Innovation Following the AUN-QA Approach" featured 20 selected presentations revolving around the topics of (1) Theoretical basis for curriculum management and undergraduate training activities; (2) Managing and improving the quality of curriculum and undergraduate training activities; (3) Quality assurance in teaching and assessment activities; (4) Improving the quality of student support activities in high-quality training programs; (5) Experience in quality management of high-quality training programs; and (6) University autonomy and the quality of higher education in Vietnam.

 

The seminar was chaired by the Presidium consisting of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Hao (Nha Trang University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Minh Thanh (Former Head of the Testing and Quality Assurance Department), and Dr. Nguyen Duy Mong Ha (Head of the Testing and Quality Assurance Department) with 4 presentation papers: (1) "Some compatible factors in developing and implementing undergraduate training curricula" by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Hao (Nha Trang University); (2) "Improving the quality of student support activities for high-quality training programs at the Faculty of English Linguistics and Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City" by Dr. Le Hoang Dung (Dean of the Faculty of English Linguistics and Literature); (3) "Quality assurance work in teaching and assessment activities at An Giang University" by MSc. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao (An Giang University); and (4) "Some orientations for high-quality training at the Faculty of German Linguistics and Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City" by MSc. Nguyen Thi Bich Phuong (Deputy Dean of the Faculty of German Linguistics and Literature).

Delivering the closing remarks, Dr. Pham Tan Ha, Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, thanked the delegates for their presence and enthusiastic contributions to the seminar. The useful comments and sharing provided in the seminar will inspire training institutions to continue implementing plans and strategies to improve and enhance the quality of training activities to meet the requirements of integration and innovation according to the AUN-QA approach of the ASEAN University Network.
