Linguistics students (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) have cultural exchange with Myanmar students (Bach Viet Polytechnic College)
On the afternoon of May 23, 2025, at room 601, Bach Viet Polytechnic College (HCMC Polytechnic College), a cultural exchange took place between student representatives of the Faculty of Linguistics (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City - University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM) and Myanmar students studying Vietnamese at the Faculty of Tourism and Languages of HCMC Polytechnic College.
The exchange program (co-organized by the two faculties) attracted more than 40 students to attend. The exchange was attended by Ms. Vo Thi Bao Anh (Head of the Department of Japanese Translation for Economics and Commerce, HCMC Polytechnic College), Ms. Duong Thi Thuong (Lecturer of the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Languages, HCMC Polytechnic College) and Ms. Vo Tuan Vu (Lecturer of the Faculty of Linguistics, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM).

Students of the Faculty of Linguistics (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM) opened the exchange program with an introduction to the Ao Dai and Ao Ba Ba through a lively skit; emphasizing the cultural value of traditional Vietnamese costumes. Next were performances from the Children's Song Club, including performances of the songs "Hello Vietnam" and the medley "Calligraphy - Vietnamese Language - Red Blood, Yellow Skin - I Love Vietnam". With emotional voices and skillful choreography, the performances of students of the Faculty of Linguistics (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM) received enthusiastic responses and cheers from the audience.

In response, Myanmar students had an interesting presentation about their country's traditional Longyi costume as well as performed cultural performances imbued with national identity, receiving enthusiastic responses from the audience.

The highlight of the exchange was the activity of making Phuc Linh cake, one of the traditional cakes of the Vietnamese people. Students from both sides experienced the stages of making cakes, from mixing the flour, pressing the mold to pouring the cakes. This activity not only helped the Myanmar students understand more about Vietnamese culinary culture but also contributed to strengthening the spirit of solidarity and enhancing friendly exchanges between the two groups of students.

The program ended in a vibrant atmosphere; not only leaving many memorable memories for the participating students but also opening up many opportunities for cooperation, academic and cultural exchange in the future between Vietnamese and international students.
