2026 Readers' Conference & Talkshow “Students in the AI Era: What Digital Skills Are Needed?” – Intellectual Imprint in the Digital Era
On the morning of April 23, 2026, at the Linh Xuan Campus Library, the Center for Information, Library and Museum of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City successfully organized the 2026 Readers' Conference combined with the talkshow “Students in the AI Era: What Digital Skills Are Needed?”.
The program was part of a series of activities responding to the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) and World Book and Copyright Day (April 23), contributing to spreading the values of knowledge and reading culture. The program was honored to have the attendance of Dr. Le Hoang Dung – Vice President of the University, representatives of the leadership of Faculties/Departments/Centers of the University, representatives of libraries within and outside the VNUHCM system, the sponsor iGroup Vietnam Corporation, and guest speaker Prof. Dr. Mega Subramaniam – University of Maryland, USA. Notably, the program attracted more than 200 readers, including lecturers, postgraduate students, and students.
Within the framework of the conference, Dr. Bui Thu Hang – Director of the Center, presented a report summarizing the 2025–2026 academic year and development orientations for the coming time. The program recorded more than 60 practical suggestions from readers, mainly revolving around content such as upgrading facilities, improving network infrastructure, supplementing documents, extending service hours, strengthening guidance on using services, and promoting digital communication. These opinions continue to affirm the spirit of dialogue, listening, and tireless efforts in improving the quality of the Center's services.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Le Hoang Dung – Vice President of the University, emphasized the role of the Center for Information, Library and Museum in training, learning, and research activities, while affirming that the University always cares about improving learning conditions to better meet the needs of learners.

A highlight of the program was the sharing by Prof. Dr. Mega Subramaniam with many profound perspectives on digital skills in the AI era. The content of the talkshow suggested important requirements for today's students, not only in the ability to use technology but also in critical thinking, information evaluation skills, and the spirit of using AI responsibly.
