University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City works with Tra Vinh University: Enhancing cooperation in digital libraries and cultural heritage preservation

       On the morning of May 21, 2026, at the Linh Xuan campus (Ho Chi Minh City), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City organized a reception and working session with the delegation from Tra Vinh University (TVU). The working session focused on exchanging experiences regarding the university museum operation model, digital libraries, and academic cooperation orientations in the coming time.

 Attending the working session, on the University's side, were Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President; Dr. Hoang Ngoc Minh Chau, Deputy Director of the External Relations and Scientific Research Management Department; Dr. Bui Thu Hang, Director of the Center for Information, Library and Museum; M.A. Vu Nguyen Anh and M.A. Vo Thi Huynh Nhu, Deputy Directors of the Center, along with specialists from the Center.

 On the TVU side were Dr. Ngo So Phe, President of the School of Khmer Language - Culture - Arts and Humanities (CLASKA); Ms. Thach Thi Kim Anh, Deputy Director of the Gender and Ethnic Department, CLASKA; Mr. Le Van Sao, Deputy Director of the Southern Culture Center, CLASKA; Ms. Tieu Thanh Thuy, Director of the Learning Resource and Academic Support Center, TVU; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, Deputy Director of the Center, along with officials from units under TVU.

Sharing experiences on museums and digital libraries

In his opening remarks, Dr. Le Hoang Dung expressed his pleasure in welcoming the TVU delegation. The leaders of both universities emphasized the importance of modernizing the documentation system and building an academic space that serves learners and the community effectively.

    At the working session, the two sides focused on two main groups of content. Regarding museum work and heritage preservation, the two units discussed the organizational structure, management model, museum operation mechanisms, and solutions for collection and preservation, as well as the trend of digitizing artifacts and documents. Communication activities, education, and methods of promoting museum values in a university environment were also comprehensively shared. Regarding the field of digital libraries, representatives of the units exchanged experiences in developing electronic database systems, building digital learning resources, and organizing and managing modern libraries. Specifying cooperation contents

     The working session was a concrete step in implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation signed between the two universities on December 18, 2025. Accordingly, both sides agreed on future cooperation orientations, including coordinating inter-university scientific research, sharing digital library resources, digitizing specialized documents, and jointly organizing programs to promote community cultural heritage values, especially Southern culture and Khmer Southern culture, which are strengths of both units.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Ngo So Phe affirmed that the experiences shared by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM are valuable practical materials, helping Tra Vinh University continue to develop its academic space in the near future.

   Ending the working session, representatives of the two universities exchanged souvenirs and took group photos, marking a new step in the cooperative relationship between the two units. Afterward, the TVU delegation visited the Museum, the "Pieces" thematic exhibition area, and the University's Traditional Room.
