Important Notes Regarding the 2026 Regular University Admissions Process: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, announces the following important points for candidates participating in the 2026 regular university admissions process: 1. Official information regarding the 2026 admissions process will only be published on the university's official portal (https://hcmussh.edu.vn/tuyensinh, https://tuyensinhdh.hcmussh.edu.vn/) and social media platforms managed by the university. 2. Calculation of admission scores for the combined admission method (using the following criteria: results of the 2026 High School Graduation Examination (THPT); results of the 2026 National University of Ho Chi Minh City's aptitude test (ĐGNL); academic results over 3 years of high school (HB); achievements in academics, social activities, culture, physical education, sports, and arts; international foreign language certificates) 2.1. General admission formula: Admission Score = w1THPT + w2ĐGNL + w3HB + [bonus points] + [priority points] with the following ratios: w1 = 45%, w2 = 45%, and w3 = 10% Where: w1 is the weight of the 2026 High School Graduation Examination score: the total score of the 3 highest subjects in one of the admission combinations for the corresponding major. w2 is the weight of the VNU-HCM's 2026 National University Entrance Examination score: the highest score from the two examination attempts. w3 is the weight of the scholarship score: the highest average score of the three years of high school (grades 10, 11, and 12) belonging to one of the admission combinations for the corresponding major (including candidates who graduated in 2025 or earlier). Note: The highest value combination of the high school exam score and the scholarship score does not necessarily have to be the same combination (for example: the Education major has 4 combinations (B00, C00, C01, D01), the highest value combination for high school is D01 and for the scholarship is C00). 2.2. Admission scoring scale: 100-point scale, each component score is converted to a 100-point scale using the following formula: High School Graduation Exam = [High School Graduation Exam score according to the chosen subject combination] x 100/30 Assessment of Competency Exam = [Assessment of Competency Exam score] x 100/1200 Scholarship Score = [Average Scholarship Score over 3 years according to the chosen subject combination] x 100/30 2.3. Eligibility Criteria: Includes 3 categories as follows: Category 1: Candidates with sufficient scores in all 3 components. Category 2: Candidates with only high school and scholarship scores (Assessment of Competency score = 0 or below the entrance threshold) Category 3: Candidates with only Assessment of Competency scores and scholarship scores (High school score = 0 or below the entrance threshold, scholarship score includes candidates who graduated before 2026) Note: Candidates must meet the entrance threshold for each score component corresponding to the categories announced by the University. 3. Rules for converting admission scores between score components for different categories, admission combinations, and admission principles 3.1. Rules for converting admission scores between score components: follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training (Official Letter No. 2304/BGDĐT-GDĐH dated May 4, 2026). The conversion coefficient α is used to convert scores between score components (Competency Assessment and High School Graduation Exam), determining the admission score for each major/group of majors, and is applied to each applicant. The coefficient α is determined using the percentile method between score components according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, and may be combined with the results of data regression of admissions, and the cumulative GPA of the three preceding years. This coefficient is analyzed and developed by the Admissions Council during the data processing of the admissions process and announced along with the admissions results. 3.2. Principles for calculating bonus points and rewards The total bonus points and rewards (DC) shall not exceed 10% of the maximum admission score according to the admissions regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. Formula: If Academic Performance + Performance Score < 100, Performance Score = [Achievement Score] If Academic Performance + Performance Score ≥ 100, Performance Score = 100 – [Achievement Score] 3.3. Principles for Calculating Admission Scores The admission score is calculated based on the highest value of the academic performance score (ĐHL) of the respective applicants, specifically: Applicant 1: Academic Performance 1, taking the highest value of the 3 score components according to the formula: ĐHL 1 = Max [w1THPT + w2ĐGNL + w3HB] (w1 = w2 = 45%, w3 = 10%) In case Academic Performance 1 is not achieved, the scoring formula for applicant 2 or applicant 3 will be applied.
