On the morning of July 7, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Philippines, via an online platform. The event marks a new milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two universities, aiming to promote academic exchange, resource sharing, and the development of research activities in the fields of library, information, and knowledge management.

Attending the program, on the side of Southern Leyte State University were Dr. Jude A. Duarte, President; Dr. Marie Khul Langub, Vice President; Dr. Ingrid Uy, Director of the International Cooperation and Partnership Office; and Ms. Geanrose Colonia, Director of the Library and Information Center. On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City were Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President; and leaders from the International Cooperation and Scientific Research Department, the Information - Library and Museum Center, and the Faculty of Information and Library Science.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Jude A. Duarte, President of Southern Leyte State University, emphasized that in an increasingly connected world, higher education institutions need to strengthen cooperation based on mutual respect, trust, and co-development. The SLSU President stated that the partnership between the two universities would contribute to promoting the exchange of knowledge, technology, and innovation; he also expressed his hope that both sides would leverage their strengths through resource sharing, especially in the fields of digital libraries, the exchange of scientific publications, research, and innovative initiatives. He also expressed his desire for the two universities to continue expanding cooperation into many other fields, bringing practical benefits to faculty, learners, and contributing to the development of higher education.

In response, Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President, affirmed that the signing ceremony is an important milestone in expanding the university's international cooperation relations. The Vice President noted that the two universities share many similarities and potential for cooperation in fields such as information science, technology, management, and library science. On the basis of the signed agreement, Dr. Le Hoang Dung expects that the specialized units of both sides will continue to coordinate closely, implement practical and effective cooperation programs, contribute to improving the quality of training and research, while providing many development opportunities for faculty, researchers, staff, and learners of both universities.
Within the framework of the program, representatives of the two universities signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), agreeing to implement key contents including sharing physical and digital library resources; developing digital libraries; exchanging academic publications and open-access documents; training, fostering, and exchanging professional expertise for staff; and promoting research cooperation and innovation in the fields of library, knowledge management, and information services.
Through the cooperation agreement, the two universities hope to effectively promote their respective strengths, expand international cooperation networks, and gradually implement specific cooperative activities in training, research, and academic exchange, contributing to promoting the internationalization of higher education and improving the quality of human resources in the coming time.
