In order to facilitate students applying for the Fall 2026 Semester at Sea Program, the University would like to inform the faculties of the extension of the application submission deadline as follows:
Extended deadline: 4:00 PM, May 11, 2026 (Monday).
Nomination letters and application documents (including both hard and soft copies) should be submitted to the Office of External Relations and Scientific Management (Room B.005), email: era@hcmussh.edu.vn by the above deadline.

Fall 2026 Semester at Sea Program
1. Program Overview
- Semester at Sea selects outstanding university students from various countries to serve as Interport Students (IPS) aboard the MV World Odyssey. The main role of IPS participants is to engage in cultural exchange activities and introduce their country or city to the onboard community.
- Representing country: Vietnam;
- Embarkation port: Colombo, Sri Lanka;
- Disembarkation port: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam;
- Embarkation period: tentatively from November 19, 2026 to November 22, 2026;
- Disembarkation date: December 2, 2026.
2. Financial Support
Students will receive support for accommodation and meals onboard, a travel allowance of USD 1,000 (for airfare, visa fees, etc.), opportunities to participate in Semester at Sea field programs, and additional living support for personal expenses or field programs onboard.
3. Eligibility
- Full-time undergraduate students from the second year onward, aged between 18 and 23;
- Excellent academic performance and active participation in extracurricular activities;
- Vietnamese citizens with a valid passport and the ability to obtain all necessary visas for participation in the program;
- Broad understanding of Vietnamese culture, politics, and society, as well as global cultures and societies;
- Good English communication and presentation skills related to Vietnamese culture and tourism;
- Open-minded, dynamic, independent, and willing to connect with international peers;
- Must pass the mandatory background check required by Semester at Sea.
4. Application Documents

- Curriculum Vitae/CV (in English);
- One copy of passport;
- Official university transcripts for all semesters (in English);
- Proof of participation in extracurricular activities.
