Based on Official Dispatch No. 2533/ĐHQG-ĐT, dated October 7, 2026, of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City regarding the 2026 Postgraduate Scholarship Program. The University hereby announces the implementation of the above scholarship program as follows:
1. Information about the scholarship program
The 2026 Postgraduate Scholarship Program of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City aims to encourage and support master's students and PhD candidates with excellent academic results and scientific research achievements, contributing to enhancing the quality of training and scientific research.
Quantity: 05 master's scholarships and 05 PhD scholarships across the entire Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
- Value of master's scholarship: 25,000,000 VND/scholarship.
- Value of PhD scholarship: 75,000,000 VND/scholarship.
Note: The quantity of scholarships mentioned above is the total for the 2026 Postgraduate Scholarship Program implemented by Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, not the quantity specifically allocated to the University.
2. Eligibility and scholarship criteria
2.1. General criteria
Master's students and PhD candidates applying for the scholarship must meet the following conditions:
- Progressing on schedule according to the training institution's plan;
- Achieving a minimum academic result of 7.5 points for the fields: Education and Teacher Training; Humanities; Social and Behavioral Sciences; Journalism and Information; Business and Management; Law and Social Services; or achieving a minimum of 7.0 points for the fields: Life Sciences; Natural Sciences; Mathematics and Statistics; Computing and Information Technology; Engineering Technology; Engineering; Production and Processing; Architecture and Construction; Health; Environment and Environmental Protection.
- Dedicating at least 24 hours/week (outside of class time) to studying and research at the training institution.
- Meeting the foreign language proficiency standards according to the current regulations of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City.
2.2. For master's students
- Must be a first-year or final-year student (calculated based on enrollment time).
- Having scientific research products (conducted and published during the standard training period): At least 01 article published or accepted for publication in a scientific journal indexed in Web of Science/Scopus; or have published at least 02 reports in the proceedings of prestigious international conferences, with peer review, published in a foreign language; or 02 articles published in prestigious foreign peer-reviewed scientific journals; or participated in scientific research projects at all levels that have been accepted.
2.3. For PhD candidates
- Must be a first-year, second-year, or third-year PhD candidate (calculated based on enrollment time).
- Having scientific research products (conducted and published during the standard training period): At least 01 article published or accepted for publication in a scientific journal indexed in Web of Science/Scopus; or have published at least 02 reports in the proceedings of prestigious international conferences, with peer review, published in a foreign language; or 02 articles published in prestigious foreign peer-reviewed scientific journals; or participated in scientific research projects at all levels that have been accepted.
2.4. Other regulations
- Master's students and PhD candidates who have received other scholarships in 2026 are not eligible for the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City postgraduate scholarship.
- The scholarship does not apply to officials, civil servants, researchers, lecturers, and personnel working under employment contracts at Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City and training institutions.
- Scholarship recipients must use the scholarship for the correct purposes and requirements of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City;
- Provide accurate and transparent information about their study and scientific research process;
- Coordinate in promoting the personal image and brand of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, the VNUHCM Development Fund, and the training institution upon receiving the scholarship.
3. Application dossier for scholarship consideration (submit electronic copies in scan format)
(1) Scientific curriculum vitae with photo and overlapping seal;
(2) Citizen Identification Card/Identity Card;
(3) Academic results;
(4) Diplomas and certificates proving foreign language proficiency according to regulations;
(5) Recommendation letter and confirmation from the Faculty/Department Board or supervisor;
(6) Confirmation of study and research time for master's students and PhD candidates at the training institution;
(7) Proof of scientific research products (only scan pages containing information about the research product and the applicant's information);
(8) Other awards and achievements (if any);
The University requests that Faculties widely announce the 2026 Postgraduate Scholarship Program to all master's students and PhD candidates under their management; simultaneously review, consider, and nominate students and candidates who fully meet the conditions and criteria for scholarship consideration according to regulations.
Faculties shall send the nomination official dispatch along with the Appendix list for scholarship consideration (according to the attached form) and the applicant's scholarship application dossier (electronic version in scan format, organized in a separate folder for each applicant) to the Student Affairs Office via email: Congtacsinhvien@hcmussh.edu.vn, before 11:00 AM on October 26, 2026.
