Call for Papers

The international conference “Identification, assessment and intervention for children with learning disorders in school context” is organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH, Vietnam National University-HCM), and the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). The goals of this conference are to:

• Present the results of the joint post-graduate program between USSH, the Catholic University of Louvain and the University of Liège (Belgium) on psychological evaluation and intervention for children with learning disorders, from 2016 to 2020. The post-graduate program is entitled: "Development and implementation of a university certificate in Psychological Assessment and Intervention for children with learning difficulties in schools" (ARES-CCD).
• Present state-of-the-art research findings on learning disorders (LD) in children, including dysphasia and dysarthria, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and comorbidities, as well as related difficulties in the school context such as problems with emotional and behavioral processing, decreased motivation and bullying.
• Discuss and introduce various assessment tools and intervention methods for children with LD and comorbidities.
• Share experiences on working with children with LD and other related difficulties, and discuss the challenges and prospects of identifying and intervening for them. 

Topics include

• Learning disorders (difficulties in speech, reading, spelling, and calculation).
• Emotional factors in the learning process.
• Cognitive processes (memory, attention, executive functioning) involved in the learning process.
• Interventions for learning disorders and related psychological problems.
• School-related behavior problems and psychological disturbances.
• Motivational factors in the learning process.
• Assessment tools for learning disorders and related psychological problems.
• Challenges and prospects in identifying and intervening for learning disorders.
