From Vietnam to US: Sharings from as fresh graduate of the joint program Master of Arts in Linguistics with TESOL Concentration

On August 7th, 2023, the Center for International Education, USSH-VNUHCM formally organized the Commencement Ceremony for the Cohort 6’s students of the joint program Master of Arts in Linguistics with TESOL Concentration, collaborated between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Benedictine University, US.
In addition to enjoying a global-standard training program, Ms. Ha Tien Thuy Anh, one of the fresh graduates, also had the chance to fly to the US to attend the Commencement Ceremony at Benedictine University. Sharing about her journey, Ms. Thuy Anh said:
Finding the perfect school to pursue my Master's Degree was a difficult task. I was at a loss for which one to choose until I discovered the collaboration between USSH and Benedictine. Intrigued, I delved into the curriculum and found it to be what I needed to enhance my expertise. With the intention of holding my Master's graduation ceremony in the US, I submitted my application and set off on a transformative journey that would change my life.
Under the guidance of Professor Sandra Kies, my first two courses ignited a newfound motivation within me. The well-planned structure, along with the D2L platform and engaging assignments, allowed me to learn and grow significantly. Online feedback from Professor Kies inspired me to always strive for my best. Surprisingly, I found myself diving deep into readings, conducting thorough research, and developing critical thinking skills. The validation and high scores I received further fueled my determination.
What I've come to realize is that studying for personal growth not only transforms you into a better learner but also a better teacher. Now, equipped with expert knowledge, I feel like a new person. I am confident in my teaching and research abilities and can effectively help the younger generation in mastering their English skills. Thanks to Benedictine, I had the opportunity to visit the US for the first time, broadening my perspective through exposure to different cultures and people.
The lecturers at USSH and Benedictine are exemplary in their dedication to education. If you're seeking a Master's program in teaching English, trust me when I say that this program is among the best in Vietnam. Not only will you gain knowledge, but you'll also develop a global perspective. The professors always provide care, attention, and guidance throughout your learning journey. Everything I've shared here comes straight from my heart.
It has been over 7 years since the program Master of Arts in Linguistics with TESOL Concentration was officially launched in Vietnam, which has successfully generated a large number of well-qualified teachers with transformative and integrative teaching methods, meeting the increasingly high demands of our society. The program calls for applications annually from January to March.
