On the morning of September 26, the Center for International Education, USSH, VNU-HCM held the Opening ceremony for students of 2+2 joint bachelor's programs, including 4 majors: English (University of Minnesota Crookston, USA), International Relations, Communication (majoring in Journalism) (Deakin University, Australia) and Chinese Language (Guangxi Normal University, China).
The ceremony welcomed representatives of the University's leaders, representatives of units, heads of offices/departments, libraries, and lecturers. Especially, the ceremony also welcomed the online presence of representatives from partner universities, including Deakin University (Australia), University of Minnesota Crookston (USA), and Guangxi Normal University (China). The ceremony was attended by parents and more than 200 students studying at the Center for International Education.

During his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Le Hoang Dung - Vice President of the University affirmed: "These are all international standard programs of prestigious partners. In addition to professional competence, graduates also have the qualities and skills to work at a global level. The programs provide the country with a high-quality workforce that meets international standards. The international joint programs are also a part of the internationalization strategy at higher education at USSH, VNU-HCM".
"In the globalization context, by studying international standard programs with modern methods and excellent lecturers, students are provided with opportunities to maximize their talents, and especially, accumulate essential skills such as foreign language competency or life skills to prepare for the transfer... Stay connected with your family, teachers, and mentors. You also need to take care of your health, especially your mental health to always have the best energy for the journey of youth " he added.

In addition, representatives from partner universities congratulated the new students who passed the entrance exam to officially become students of the international 2+2 joint programs in the academic year 2023. The lecturers expressed their excitement and looked forward to welcoming the students at their Universities in 2 years.

On behalf of the freshmen of the international 2+2 joint program in English Cohort 03, Hua Hong Phuc - a freshman in English - expressed his honor to become a student of the University. He shared: “To achieve our goals, we had to put in a lot of effort and hard work. On the journey of personal development, we wanted to give up many times because of the pressure from achievements and scores. But we feel lucky because accompaying us were our families, teachers and friends who supported and encouraged us to overcome difficulties. Therefore, on our new journey at the university, we are determined to study hard, seize opportunities, and gradually achieve success on the academic path”.

At the ceremony, the Center for International Education also awarded scholarships to excellent students in the academic year 2022 - 2023 with the "CIExcellent Global Citizen Awards" and awarded new valedictorians according to admission methods. These awards serve as regconition of the students' efforts and will motivate them in the new academic year.

In 2023, the Center for International Education, USSH, VNU-HCM welcomes more than 200 new students in 4 international joint programs: English, Chinese Language, Communication (majoring in Journalism), and International Relations. The international 2+2 joint programs are of interest to many young people because they have helped students improve their skills, knowledge, and living capital before transferring to the last 2 years of study at the partner universities.
