In September 2023, 29 students from the 2+2 international joint program in Chinese Language successfully transferred to Guangxi Normal University, China to continue their Bachelor's program in Chinese Language. These students have completed their first two years of study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City.
Dr. Tran Thanh Huong – Standing Deputy Director of the Center for International Education and Ms. Tran Lan Tien – CIE Staff guided the students in their transfer to Guangxi Normal University, China. In addition to supporting the students, CIE representatives exchanged and talked about relevant issues to provide students with the best academic experience when transferring. The representatives also discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two universities on short-term certificate courses.
The group flew to Guangzhou and then traveled from Guangzhou to Guilin via high-speed train. This is the first time the students have experienced a common mode of transportation in China. Guangxi Normal University representatives welcomed the group at the airport and on the train to the University, the group was accompanied by two Vietnamese students studying at GXNU.
Guangxi Normal University has 3 campuses in Guilin: Yanshan Campus - the main campus with 15 departments, Yucai Campus with 5 departments, and Wangcheng Campus - the smallest campus with 1 department. Transfer students of the international 2+2 joint program will study and live at the Yucai Campus. Students are provided with 4-bed dormitory rooms in Building 1 of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at the Yucai campus. The accommodation fee is included in the tuition fee when the students study at GXNU. Especially, at the Yucai campus, there is the Vietnam School Memorial Hall, which displays images of Vietnamese leaders who have studied at GXNU and demonstrates the spirit of friendship between the two countries Vietnam and China.
On September 11, 2023, students attended the lively opening ceremony at Guangxi Normal University, welcoming them to their next 2-year learning journey.

Since 2021, the 2+2 international joint program in Chinese Language between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM and Guangxi Normal University, China has been chosen by many young students because of its quality, ideal language learning environment, and affordability.
