At the seminar, participants presented successful models of mobilizing financial resources for initiatives to build communities to adapt to natural disasters and climate change in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia. As a region, ASEAN covers many countries at very high risk of natural disasters and susceptible to the adverse impacts of climate change.

The projects and information presented at the seminar will be promoted in different communities in ASEAN to  extend influence and solve their practical problems, aiming towards the shared goals of building a greener ASEAN and sustainable development.

The seminar also aimed to provide solutions to address the challenges of finding funding for community-based initiatives to build resilience to natural disasters and the adverse effects of climate change in ASEAN countries.

During the seminar, the USSH, VNU-HCM, ActionAid Vietnam, and AFV also announced the "Youth Ambassador Award for Sustainable Development".

This award is to honor individuals or collectives of young people with excellent research projects and initiatives that help solve contemporary problems in terms of environmental protection, sustainable development, and climate change adaptation, aiming  to engage young people and highlight their role in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Vietnam, especially in the Mekong Delta.
