On the evening of August 2, 2021, the Center for International Education (CIE), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VietNam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH, VNU-HCM) in collaboration with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and Montessori Training Center Northeast (MTCNE), USA organized the opening ceremony of The Eleventh AMI Primary Orientation Course.
Present at the ceremony were Representatives from AMI, MTCNE and USSH, VNU-HCM: Ms. Diwo Lhamo Pemba - AMI Trainer at Primary level, Mr. Tim Nee – MTCNE Managing Director, and Ms. Nguyen Anh Quan, CIE Director, and all the students of the course.
Montessori is one of the world's oldest and most widely used educational methods. Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) was founded in 1929 by Dr. Montessori with the mission of preserving and developing educational programs that support the natural development of human beings from birth to maturity, enabling them to become transforming agents in society leading to a more harmonious and peaceful world.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Anh Quan announced the opening of The Eleventh AMI Primary Orientation Course at USSH-VNUHCM. "More than 750 graduates from the orientation courses and 80 graduates and students of the diploma courses organized by USSH, VUN-HCM will be the core force contributing to the development of the Montessori method, in particular, and Early Childhood Education in Vietnam in general", said the director.
In their speeches, Mr. Tim Nee and Ms. Lhamo Pemba affirmed that USSH, VNU-HCM is an important partner in practicing the vision and mission of AMI and developing Montessori Education in Vietnam, even during the pandemic.
Participating in the course, students will start their journey to discover the core of Montessori pedagogy and transform to become Montessorians, educators who love, respect children, and dedicate themselves to their careers of serving children – the hope and future destiny of humanity.
