
Montessori is a pedagogical method of educating children founded in 1907, based on the research of Italian doctor and educator Maria Montessori (1870 - 1952). After more than 110 years of establishment and development, the Montessori Method of Education has affirmed its effectiveness and has been widely implemented around the world.
In Vietnam, in recent years, the Montessori Method of Education has received special attention from educators, teachers, and parents. This is an indication that the whole society is paying attention to the goal of educational reform and innovation of primary education methods. However, the strong development of the Montessori Method of Education poses an urgent requirement to have prestigious and quality training courses for teachers and parents.
USSH, VNU-HCM is a pioneering educational institution in introducing and organizing the Montessori Method of Education in Vietnam.
In Vietnam, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM is a pioneering educational institution in introducing and organizing the Montessori Method of Education for educators, teachers, and parents. Building on the success of 10 previous courses since 2012, both face-to-face and online, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continues to collaborate with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and the Montessori Training Center Northeast (MTCNE) to organize the AMI Primary Orientation Course - Cohort 11, from June 19 to July 17, 2021.
Classes are held on weekends, Saturdays from 8:00 - 17:00, and Sundays from 8:00 - 12:00 at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, No. 10 – 12 Dinh Tien Hoang, Ward Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
The course provides fundamental knowledge of Montessori education philosophy and methods for people working and studying in primary education, parents, and individuals interested in this method. The course also aims to train teachers and assistants working in a Montessori environment (3-6) according to the standards of the Association Montessori Internationale.

The course covers the fundamentals of the Montessori Method of Education, including:
- The history of the Montessori Method of Education;
- Stages of child development;
- Principles of Montessori classroom design and maintenance;
- Areas in the Montessori classroom environment;
- The role of scientific observation and scientific observation techniques;
- Role of Adults in Montessori classrooms 3 - 6 years old;
Students complete the full course requirements, including:
- Attend at least 90% of the course;
- Complete three essays on the given topics;
- Complete the required manual learning tools;
- Complete a 9-hour observation log
Students who complete the course will be issued the internationally recognized Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Certificate Assistant for Ages 3 – 6.
The course welcomes the return of Ms. Diwo Lhamo Pemba – AMI Primary Trainer of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Ms. Pemba is an expert with over 20 years of experience in teaching the Montessori method of Education in the United States and is a lecturer of AMI Assistant and Diploma courses in Vietnam, the United States, India, Morocco, Egypt, etc.

The tuition fee of the whole course is 9,200,000 VND/student.
