Understanding Children with the AMI Primary Orientation Course

Recently, many parents and preschool teachers have been particularly interested in AMI Primary Diploma courses organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM and the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI).

What is the Montessori Method of Education?

Montessori is a method of educating children founded in 1907, based on the research of Italian doctor and educator Maria Montessori (1870 - 1952). After more than 110 years of establishment and development, the Montessori Method of Education has affirmed its effectiveness and has been widely implemented around the world.

Montessori is a method of educating children by learning through visual teaching aids. This method stimulates the child's brain to develop evenly, increasing the ability to acquire knowledge as well as develop other social skills. This method is based on the principle of discipline while respecting each child's individuality, independence, and freedom.

In Vietnam, in recent years, the Montessori Method of Education has received special attention from educators, teachers, and parents. The number of preschools implementing this method of education in teaching children is also increasing in quality and scale.

The AMI Primary Orientation Course receives the attention of many students

AMI Primary Orientation Course (3 - 6)

Building on the success of 10 previous courses, both face-to-face and online, since 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities continues to collaborate with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and the Montessori Training Center Northeast (MTCNE) to organize the 11th course, from July 7 to July 29, 2021.

Students will study with pre-recorded lecture videos and interact online to discuss and answer questions with lecturers from 19:30 - 21:00 every Monday to Friday.

The course provides fundamental knowledge of Montessori education philosophy and methods for people working and studying in primary education, parents, and individuals interested in this method. The course aims to train teachers and assistants working in a Montessori environment (3-6) according to the standards of the Association Montessori Internationale.

The course content addresses the child's developmental stages (both physical and psychological) and how adults can support the child in each stage. In particular, the course introduces the Montessori Children's House – Montessori environment for children from 3 to 6 years old, the principles in the selection and arrangement of learning tools, the activities in the Children's House, and the role of adults (teachers and assistants) in the classroom. In addition to the theoretical modules, the course also includes hands-on activities on scientific observation and making some popular learning tools in the Children's House.
