On August 4, at the Linh Xuan Campus, the USSH-VNUHCM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Muhammadiyah Cirebon University (UMC). The partnership aims to expand international exchange opportunities for faculty members and students while promoting joint research, academic publications, and scientific conferences.
The UMC delegation included Dr. Badawi, M.Si., Vice President, representatives from the Office of Public Relations and International Cooperation, the Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM). Representing USSH-VNUHCM were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Vice President, along with representatives from the Office of Student Affairs and the Faculty of Social Work, Anthropology and Sociology.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet highlighted the MoU as an important foundation for strengthening academic cooperation and opening a new phase of collaboration between the two universities. He noted that the two institutions share similarities across several academic disciplines, creating favorable conditions for practical and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Dr. Badawi, M.Si., Vice President of UMC, introduced the university's academic structure, which currently includes seven faculties and 23 academic programs and is part of the Muhammadiyah higher education network of 157 universities in Indonesia. He expressed UMC's interest in developing practical cooperation in areas including joint research, international conferences, visiting scholar programs, academic journal publications, and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL). These activities are expected to strengthen long-term academic ties and benefit both faculty members and students.

Dr. Le Van Cong, Chair of Social Work, highlighted similarities in the academic programs of the two universities and expressed interest in student exchanges, joint research, and co-publication of academic papers. He noted that the MoU provides a foundation for expanding academic activities and developing long-term cooperation.

Prof. Yudi Azis, UMC's academic partner, proposed two key areas of cooperation: co-organizing annual international conferences, initially focusing on Education and later Management and Accounting, and developing international exchange programs for undergraduate students. These initiatives are expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two institutions.

The signing ceremony reflects USSH-VNUHCM's commitment to internationalizing education and enhancing academic quality through global partnerships. It also creates new opportunities for faculty and students from both universities while contributing to stronger educational cooperation and friendship within the ASEAN community.
