On August 15, leading scholars, administrators, and educators gathered at a National Scientific Conference to explore innovative strategies for integrating the 14th Party Congress Documents into political theory curricula. Spearheaded by the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) in partnership with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH-VNUHCM) and several prominent institutions, the academic forum tackled how to dynamically modernize teaching methods, course content, and assessment metrics for the contemporary era.

Cultivating Analytical Thinking and Practical Application
Delivering a keynote address, Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President of USSH-VNUHCM, underscored the critical need to transcend traditional instruction. He advocated for a paradigm shift from merely transmitting policy content to empowering students with the analytical skills required to dissect and apply these new viewpoints to real-world scenarios.
"Innovation in curricula must go hand-in-hand with modernized teaching and assessment methods to truly cultivate our learners' analytical and practical competencies," Dr. Le Hoang Dung emphasized.
He further urged the co-organizing institutions to forge long-term research partnerships and share academic resources to translate the conference's insights into actionable pedagogical reforms. "USSH-VNUHCM stands ready to continue accompanying and collaborating in initiatives that drive research and reform in political theory education," he affirmed.

Expert Contributions to Pedagogical Reform USSH-VNUHCM's Faculty of Philosophy made a robust intellectual contribution to the conference, presenting multiple specialized papers on theoretical and practical pedagogical reforms. During the plenary session, Dr. Pham Thi Loan and Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Thao, Chair of Philosophy, took the stage to unpack the Party's latest directives on Vietnamese cultural and human values. Their joint presentation proposed actionable strategies for weaving these paradigms into Marxist-Leninist Philosophy modules, ensuring a seamless bridge between academic theory and practical application.

Beyond the main stage, the Faculty's scholars contributed a wealth of research to the conference proceedings. These papers examined the integration of the 14th Party Congress Documents across diverse disciplines—including Scientific Socialism and Political Economy—while addressing pressing contemporary shifts such as digital transformation, technological innovation, and evolving cultural value systems.

Offering a holistic academic perspective, Associate Professor Cao Xuan Long, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at USSH-VNUHCM, outlined four core principles for overhauling political theory education: ensuring absolute accuracy; tailoring approaches to specific student demographics and majors; synchronizing theory with the pulse of modern times; and aligning methodological innovation with rigorous assessment overhauls.
He noted that educators must continuously integrate contemporary global phenomena—such as artificial intelligence and the digital economy—into their lectures. The ultimate goal, he argued, is not merely to use reality to illustrate theory, but to equip learners with the theoretical frameworks necessary to analyze and navigate complex real-world challenges.

The robust engagement of USSH-VNUHCM’s faculty at the conference reinforced the university’s leading role in advancing research and providing scientific foundations for socio-humanistic studies. By cultivating a vibrant platform for academic exchange, the event successfully strengthened ties among higher education institutions, laying the groundwork to translate the latest policy directives into high-impact teaching methodologies that prepare students for the nation's future developmental demands.
