FoP Library Regulations
 
1. Location and Service Time
 
  • Location: Rooms 8.10 and 8.09 - Executive Building of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNUHCM, Linh Trung campus, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
  • Opening hours: morning 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; afternoon 13:00 - 17:00 from Monday to Friday.

2. Eligible Users

  • Lecturers, students of all systems, graduate students of the Department of Psychology - University of Social Sciences and Humanities - National University of Ho Chi Minh City.
  • Lecturers, students and graduate students of other faculties of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh City National University.

(*) Specific policies for each reader

  • Lecturer at the Faculty: Use library facilities and borrow materials to take home according to library regulations.
  • Full-time students: Must attend the library instruction session, use library facilities, and borrow materials to take home according to library regulations.
  • Students of the study-by-work system, second degree: Use library facilities according to the librarian's instructions.
  • Lecturers and students of other faculties: Only serves to use on-site documents for lecturers and students who are conducting scientific research projects, theses and dissertations related to Psychology (with a letter of introduction).

3. Library Regulations

3.1. General rules:
  • Comply with library rules and follow the instructions of library staff (librarians).
  • Present your employee card/student card/student card when using the library.
  • Put bags and personal items in the right place. The library is not responsible for preserving the personal property, money, or belongings of readers. In case readers want to bring laptops and other documents into the library, they must register at the librarian counter.
  • Maintain order and hygiene, do not smoke, and do not bring food or drinks into the library. Dress politely and appropriately.
  • Preserve and preserve the library's documents and assets: do not steal, exchange, tear pages, mutilate, tear, crush, damage or write or draw on documents; Do not damage the library's machinery, equipment and other items.
3.2. Regulations on the use of on-site documents:
  • Look up the shelf code and book code, find the book on the shelf, fill in the information on the book clip and submit the ticket at the librarian counter before using the materials.
  • After using the document, the reader should contact the librarian to receive the book clip back, clip it back to the book and place it on the "Unshelled books" shelf. Do not arbitrarily return books to the wrong position on the shelves.
3.3. Regulations on borrowing/returning documents:
  • Students and trainees can only borrow books with the symbol allowed to borrow according to library regulations.
  • It is necessary to check documents before borrowing them. If you find documents that are torn or damaged, please immediately notify the librarian for handling.
  • The number of borrowed documents will be 3 documents/time for lecturers and 2 documents/time for full-time students.
  • The loan period is 14 days. Instructors can extend an additional 7 days by emailing the library (if there are no readers waiting for that document).
  • If the reader is late in returning the documents, the reader must pay a fine according to regulations (if the offender repeats the offense 2 times or more, the reader will be locked out of using the book borrowing service for 3 months).
3.4. Regulations on compensation for lost/damaged documents:
  • Readers are responsible for loss/damage of library materials
  • Readers must find and repurchase lost/damaged documents themselves or pay fines according to regulations.
4. Use of Library Facilities
 
4.1. Space for group discussions, meetings, and events:
 
General rules:
  • Register to use according to library regulations. If the registration group arrives more than 10 minutes late at the registration time, the registration will be canceled (if there is no waiting group).
  • Organize activities according to registered content, ensuring compliance with general library rules for both organizers and participants.
  • Communicate just enough to be heard, avoid activities that affect other readers.
  • After use, you must rearrange tables, chairs and library equipment in their original state and notify the librarian.
  • Readers regularly update the registration list to use the space for group discussions, meetings, and events at the Department of Psychology website and in front of the library.
Registration process:
  • Group meeting of 2 - 6 people: register at the online link and wait for the agreed status update before the group meeting. If there is no one to register in advance, groups of readers can register directly at the librarian counter and use immediately.
  • Meeting of 7 - 10 people: register at the online link and wait for the approved status update at least 12 hours before the group meeting.
  • Event organization: register directly at the librarian counter with the event plan (approved).
4.2. Printing and copying documents:
 
The library provides printing and copying services for faculty and students according to the following regulations:
  • Books, reference materials, textbooks: 10% of content
  • Scientific newspapers and magazines: 100% content
  • Theses, dissertations, research topics: 10% of content
  • Restricted documents, multimedia documents: photocopying is not allowed
Please contact the librarian counter to register to use the service.
 
4.3. Other convenient services:
  • Free wifi
  • Use a desktop computer to look up documents
  • Headphones, CDs
  • Available psychological tools/tests for learning and research
  • In addition, readers can use their own computers in the library, but there are a few things to note (a) Readers are not allowed to access websites with bad content; Do not watch tapes and discs with unhealthy content, reactionary content, or content that violates the law; Do not transmit information that is harmful to national security; (b) Must wear headphones to watch movies and listen to music; and (c) Readers need to place the computer, use the power source in the right place, and take care of their computer when bringing it to the library (Except when readers leave the computer at the librarian counter).
5. New Document(s) Request
 
Readers can contact the librarian for further instructions in 2 ways:
  • Method 1: Send a request via Facebook or the library’s email.
  • Method 2: Fill out the request form at the library.
6. Reward and Discipline
 
Reward cases:
  • Detect fraud in borrowing/returning books
  • Detect cases of damage to books as well as other items in the library
Discipline cases:
  • In case a reader intentionally does not comply with the library's regulations, the library will notify the Faculty Board for resolution, and will also notify the training department in classifying student training. In addition, readers will forever be unable to participate in any library activities.
