On October 15, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, was invited to attend and take part in the tree-planting event at Block B4 at the USSH, VNU - HCM.

The USSH, VNU-HCM representatives, leaders, and a sizable number of officials assisted in planting trees throughout the campus during the opening ceremony for the school year 2022–2023. Additionally, Mr. Phan Van Mai gave the University some trees that are unique to the Southwest.

Planting trees is one of the first initiatives to encourage lecturers and students at the USSH, VNU-HCM, to foster a beautiful and orderly living environment, and civilization, and increase environmental consciousness following the "Green University" program in 2019.
This activity, in particular, promises to be a chance to help educate all university students about the need to contribute to greening their communities, especially with the cooperation of central and city officials in their commitment to sustainable development.
