Following the success of the previous courses, the Center for International Education is accepting new students for the International Joint program Master in Linguistics with TESOL Concentration Cohort 8 between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM and Benedictine University, USA.
Extensive and regularly updated specialized knowledge, and excellent teaching skills in ESL/EFL programs with modern and suitable teaching methods are outstanding values that the program brings to students. The knowledge gained in the program will help students in teaching English and other languages at all levels of study, linguistic research, and other professions related to language knowledge.
1. Admission requirements
- Applicants have a Bachelor's degree in English Language, Pedagogy, or an equivalent degree from an official university.
- Meet the English entry requirements of the program (meet one of the following criteria): IELTS 6.5 (no skills below 6.0), TOEFL iBT 79 or CEFR C1.
- Have experience in teaching at academic and training institutions.
2. Degree
Master's Degree in Linguistics with TESOL Concentration issued by Benedictine University, USA.
3. Lecturers
Lecturers from Benedictine University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM.
4. Course Length and Location
- Course length: 24 months for 07 subjects and 01 thesis;4
- Location: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM (10-12 Dinh Tien Hoang, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, HCM City.

- Introduction to Linguistics;
- Methods and Materials for teaching ESL;
- Second Language Acquisition;
- Research Methods;
- Issues in Second Laguage Writing;
- Assessment of ESL and Bilingual Students;
- English for Specific Purposes;
- Thesis.
7. Graduation requirements
Complete the program and write a graduation thesis.

9. Admission fee
Fee: 1,771,000 VND (equivalent to $75, based on the exchange rate on January 11th, 2023 of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam – Vietcombank).
10. Admission period
From the date of announcement until the end of March 31st, 2023.
11. Opening Ceremony
July 10th, 2023 (estimate).
12. Course tuition
The tuition fee is 243,183,000 VND (equivalent to 10,300 USD/course, based on the exchange rate on January 11th, 2023 of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam – Vietcombank).
