International Relations is one of the leading majors in terms of the number of international students enrolled at Deakin University. The international 2+2 joint program in International Relations between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, and Deakin University (Melbourne, Australia) is a great academic opportunity for youths in Vietnam. Upon enrollment in this program, students will study the foundation, fundamental, and specialized courses taught in English in the first 2 years at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (District 1 campus, Ho Chi Minh City.) and study specialized courses at the Faculty of Arts and Education for their last 2 years at Deakin University (Melbourne, Australia).
Upon completion of the program, students receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Deakin University. Students can work in Australia or return to Vietnam to work for organizations such as embassies, consulates, foreign affairs departments, training and research institutions in international relations, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, cultural and ideological agencies, news agencies, strategic analysis agencies, foreign affairs departments of enterprises, etc.

Diverse admission methods, high admission chances
In 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM admits 30 students into the International Relations major with several methods of admission:
- Method 1: Admission is based on the results of the national high school graduation exam in 2023, including blocks: D01, D14.
- Method 2: Admission is based on the results of the Competency Assessment Exam organized by VNU-HCM in 2023.
- Method 3: Admission is based on the High School Graduation Exam scores of international high school programs.
- Method 4: Priority admission in accordance to VNU-HCM's Regulations.
Note: Candidates need to submit an IELTS 5.5 or VSTEP B2 certificate at the end of the first semester of the first year.
In addition, students studying at universities throughout the country can also transfer their records to this program.
Tuition:
- At the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: 60 million VND/year (including 4 semesters)
- At Deakin University: about 30,000 - 33,000 AUD/year (equivalent to about 480 million VND).
