On the morning of July 9th, the Center for International Education held the Opening ceremony for the program Master in Linguistics with TESOL Concentration Cohort 08 in association with Benedictine University, USA.
From Benedictine University (USA), there was the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olga D. Lambert - Dean of Liberal Arts, and Prof. Sandra Kies - Program Director. From the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there was the presence of Dr. Le Hoang Dung - Vice President, and the Board of Directors of the Center for International Education.

In his speech, Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President of the University, expects students to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of Linguistics, especially in English teaching through which they can further develop their academic path at the program. He also expects that cohort 2023 will include students who have the qualities and abilities of an international Master's graduate, thus providing the society with international Master's graduates, who can work in various environments, especially in linguistics and English language teaching.

While answering students' questions, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Olga D. Lambert and Prof. Sandra Kies have provided detailed information about the international program and the program's learning and research methods. In order to help students have a better understanding of the Center for International Education (CIE) as well as related programs, Dr. Tran Thanh Huong, CIE’s Standing Deputy Director, enlightened them in several details about the Center such as its history, staff members, joint programs at Bachelor’s and Master’s level,... In particular, CIE currently offers Bachelor’s programs with many prestigious and famous universities worldwide such as Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand), Deakin University (Australia), Guangxi Normal University (China), University of Minnesota Crookston (USA)...

Nguyen Quang Huy, a student of Cohort 08 shared: “In Vietnam, there are many international programs. After learning about the joint program between Benedictine University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, I feel that the program is suitable for me. I hope to obtain intensive knowledge and experience in this field through the lecturers of the program"

It has been over 7 years since the program Master of Arts in Linguistics with TESOL Concentration was officially launched in Vietnam, which has successfully generated a large number of well-qualified teachers with transformative and integrative teaching methods, meeting the increasingly high demands of our society. The program calls for applications annually from January to March
