In the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year 2023-2024 on September 21st, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (USSH, VNU-HCM) announced multiple scholarships to foster a creative and proactive learning environment, as well as to unlock students' hidden potential. The scholarships encompass academic scholarships, corporate scholarships, and sponsor scholarships.

First-Year Merit Scholarships

Nine incoming students of the year 2023, who have demonstrated exceptional academic and research achievements, have been awarded merit scholarships from the University. These first-year students include Nguyen Ngoc Bao Tran (English Linguistics and Literature), Nguyen Huynh Ngoc Anh Nhu (Psychology), Le Huu Dang (Philosophy), Nguyen Hoang Thi (Multimedia Communication), and Nguyen Thi Huong Nguyen (Multimedia Communication) as Top Undergraduate Admissions Students; Tran Hoai Bao (Literature) as the University Valedictorian; Tran Phuong Thao (Clinical Psychology) and Huynh Doan Phuong Truc (Clinical Psychology) as Top Graduate Admissions Students; and Ngo Tra Mi (Literary Theory) as Top Doctoral Admissions Students.

Vietnam National University Foundation Scholarships

As in previous years, the Vietnam National University Foundation (VNU-F) offered entrance scholarships to first-time students from member universities and faculties, branches of the VNU-HCM in Ben Tre Province, and the VNU-HCM High School for the Gifted.

In the 2023-2024 academic year, the Foundation has awarded two of these entrance scholarships for Two incoming students of the USSH, VNU-HCM, Le Huu Dang (Philosophy) as Top Scorer of the High School Graduation Examination and Nguyen Ngoc Bao Tran (English Linguistics and Literature) as Top Scorer of the Aptitude Test, each valued at 2 million Vietnamese dong.

Talent and Academic Excellence Scholarships for Top incoming students 

In an effort to support students with financial hardship and ensure they have the opportunity to continue their education in the new academic year, the University has awarded 3 scholarships, each valued at 100 million Vietnamese dong, to Top Full Time/Regular Undergraduate Programs Admissions Students.

The recipients of these scholarships were Nguyen Ngoc Bao Tran, Nguyen Huynh Ngoc Anh Nhu, and Le Huu Dang.

Scholarships from corporate partners

In the academic year 2023 - 2024, the University has received valuable support from esteemed partners for the University scholarship fund, with the aim to ensure that students with financial or personal hardships can continue their studies without disruptions.

- The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) - Gia Dinh Branch has awarded six scholarships to students from the USSH, VNU-HCM, with a total value of 30 million Vietnamese dong.

- The Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) - Ho Chi Minh City Branch has awarded 10 scholarships, with a total value of 50 million Vietnamese dong.

- The Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) - Tan Son Nhat Branch has awarded 20 scholarships, with a total value of 100 million Vietnamese dong.

- The Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) has awarded 10 scholarships, with a total value of 100 million Vietnamese dong.
- The Christina Noble Children's Foundation in Vietnam has awarded 20 scholarships, with a total value of 336 million Vietnamese dong.

- Mr. Le Dang Khoa, Entrepreneur, has awarded 5 full-tuition scholarships, with a total value of 100 million Vietnamese dong per year.

- South Central Dreams Foundation has granted 10 full-tuition scholarships, with a total value of 200 million Vietnamese dong per year.

- CT Group has awarded 10 full-tuition scholarships, with a total value of 200 million Vietnamese dong per year.

- Phuc Khang Corporation has awarded 10 full-tuition scholarships named Urban Green, with a total value of 200 million Vietnamese dong per year.

- Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) has awarded a scholarship with a total value of 100 million Vietnamese dong.

- Shinhan Bank Vietnam Limited has awarded 10 full-tuition scholarships, with a total value of 200 million Vietnamese dong per year.

- The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Ho Chi Minh City has awarded 20 scholarships, with a total value of 100 million Vietnamese dong.
