Rector’s Message To 2024 Freshers

Those are words from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - Rector of USSH (VNUHCM) in the opening ceremony of the new academic year (2023-2024) on September 21

Facilitate educational environment: Whole person  - Liberal - Multicultural

In the past school year, despite a multitude of hardships, USSH managed to overcome them all with joint efforts of all students and teachers. The school also achieved several significant accomplishments in training, scientific research, and community services.

Contributing an indispensable part to that success are our lecturers and officers, who are incredibly passionate about nurturing better USSH-ers. “I’m more than lucky and delighted to work with those teachers who are, not only capable, but also conscientious in the cause of fostering students” - she shared

To nourish and develop student’s potential, the rector affirmed: “Always remember and practice our philosophy of education to facilitate a “Whole person  - Liberal - Multicultural” educational environment”

Creativity in mindset. Pioneering and responsibility in action

Rector Ngo Thi Phuong Lan’s words to Gen Z: “Utilize your intelligence, confidence, energy as well as the advantages of this transformative age to contribute to and spread out USSH best values, which is “Creativity - Leadership - Responsibility”

Besides, in response to the first-year expectation of the university, the Rector reminded: “From this very moment, with all the seed and soil provided by the school, it’s time you went the extra mile on your field in return for a fruitful yield”. That’s the shortest way for you to be a valued member of your family and society.

Meanwhile, understanding freshers’ challenge, the rector affirmed: “Not only your family, but USSH will always be your emotional anchor and support you throughout your university years”

She also hoped: “Each of you, one way or another, let’s do your best to thrive yourself and make our country thrive”
