
On the morning of October 10, the Center for International Education, USSH, VNU-HCM in collaboration with Deakin University, Australia organized a workshop for 2+2 joint program students in Communication (majoring in Journalism) and International Relations, with the theme "Expand your employability".

The workshop welcomed the presence of Dr. Tran Thanh Huong – Standing Deputy Director of the Center for International Education (CIE) and Mr. Tran Nam – Deputy Director of CIE. From Deakin University (Australia), the Center is pleased to welcome Ms. Brianna Watt – Manager of Partnerships and Engagement; Assoc. Prof. Victoria Duckett - Associate Head of School (International and Partnerships) of the School of Comm & Creative Arts in the Faculty of Arts and Education, Ms. Angela Moran - General Director of Deakin University English Language Institute, and Mr. Hieu To – Representative of Deakin's Vietnamese Office. The workshop also had the participation of the joint program students.

The workshop revolves around the procedures and issues regarding the transfer to Deakin University in the student's third and fourth years. At the same time, the workshop also provided the students with knowledge about life and culture in Australia. Next, representatives from Deakin University shared with students the learning process, internships, and future career opportunities. At the workshop, students from previous cohorts shared heartfelt messages with their juniors which helped them gain deeper insights about life in “The Land of Kangaroos” and learn more about different professions through an interesting minigame from Ms. Victoria Duckett. Finally, students made inquiries and received answers from Deakin University representatives during the Q&A session.

The workshop concluded with gifts presented to Deakin representatives to express thanks for taking their time to participate in the workshop and providing extremely useful information to the students.

Every year, Deakin University's managers and lecturers visit the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM to share with students issues related to academics, cooperation, transfer and student support, etc. These meetings are to help students acquire the necessary information and successfully transfer to their final 2 years at Deakin University.
