On May 23, 2024, at room D509, Dinh Tien Hoang campus, the Faculty of Urban Studies solemnly held the 2024 Student Scientific Conference.
On the guest side, the Conference had the presence of Dr. Tran Anh Tien, Head of the Department of External Relations & Scientific Management. On the side of the Faculty of Urban Studies, there was the presence of the Faculty Board of Directors and teachers in the Faculty as instructors, reviewers of the topics and more than 80 students of the courses of the Faculty of Urban Studies.
The Council for evaluating and accepting the 2024 Student Scientific Research Topics of the Faculty of Urban Studies consists of 2 subcommittees. Subcommittee 1 includes: Dr. Le Thanh Hoa - Dean of the Faculty (Chairman of the Council), Dr. Son Thanh Tung - Head of the Department of Urban Management and Regional Development (Council Member), MSc. Le Khanh Hung (Council Member), MSc. Nguyen Binh Minh (Council Secretary).
Subcommittee 2 includes: Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan - Head of Department of Economics - Society, Urban Culture (Chairman of the Council), Dr. Truong Hoang Truong - Head of Department of Urban Infrastructure (Council Member), Dr. Vo Thanh Tuyen - Deputy Dean (Council Member), MSc. Doan Diep Thuy Duong (Council Secretary).
Overview of the morning and afternoon sessions
At the beginning of the conference, Dr. Tran Anh Tien praised the quality of scientific research topics of students of the Faculty of Urban Studies in recent years and wished the council to work effectively to be able to select the best topics to participate in awards inside and outside the University.

At Subcommittee 1, after Master Nguyen Binh Minh read the decision to establish the council, Dr. Le Thanh Hoa delivered the opening speech of the morning session and chaired the conference. At Subcommittee 1, 6 topics were presented.

At Subcommittee 2, after MSc. Doan Diep Thuy Duong read the decision to establish the council, Associate Professor Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan delivered the opening speech of the afternoon conference and chaired the conference. At Subcommittee 2, 6 topics were presented.
After the presentation of each student group, there was a lively discussion, exchange, question and answer session between teachers and students.

Student groups present research results
Teachers commented and gave suggestions for the topics and students asked questions for the research groups
All topics were considered to be of high practical significance. Most of the presentations showed careful and meticulous preparation with many illustrative images and tables. However, there were still some studies that did not really achieve the set goals, the content was sketchy or inconsistent and illogical. Since most of the groups implementing the topics were second-year students, lacking specialized knowledge and skills, the teachers and the Council provided guidance and suggestions for the groups on how to implement the topics and could continue to register to implement the scientific research topics next year.
Some groups were highly appreciated for their data processing techniques and application of new methods. The student groups all showed their efforts and made efforts to complete the topics as best as possible. Besides the advantages, some groups have not yet applied theoretical foundations well to the design of questionnaires for investigation and survey, and have not exploited and analyzed data well to propose solutions. The Council also highly appreciated the groups in time management, but they need to focus more on the research results instead of spreading time among the parts.

At the end of the acceptance evaluation session, the Council concluded that 5 topics achieved Excellent, 5 topics achieved Good, 2 topics achieved Fair. The topics will be selected to participate in the student scientific research topic at the school level and participate in competitions at higher levels.
