On the morning of July 1, 2024, at the Faculty Office (A.222), the Faculty of Geography held a talk show named "Using AI to evaluate subjects according to output standards". The talk show is a session to report on the results of the training class on exam development and testing using GPT Chat organized by the School on June 19, 2024. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai represented the department in attending the above training class. After training, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai gave a talk at the Department of Geography to report learning results and introduce valuable applications for the teaching work of lecturers in the department.
Results recorded after the discussion between lecturers in the department:
- ChatGPT is a new advancement in information technology and is helpful for lecturers' access to information.
- It is necessary to evaluate the reliability of the information given by ChatGPT carefully.
- Attaching the lecture content file to ChatGPT to prepare exam questions will help eliminate sources of information that cannot be verified online. However, this feature is still limited in the accessible version of ChatGPT.
- Attaching course learning outcomes (CLOs) will help the topic suggestions be closer to the CLOs and the assessment scale be more detailed and accurate, and can help lecturers evaluate and obtain the level of achievement of CLOs when evaluating the module. The outcome standards must be stated concisely, easily understood, and measurable to help ChatGPT provide more accurate subject assessment suggestions.
