Continuing to inherit and promote the good values from the previous generation, the Environmental and New Rural Team (Geography's HCYU) has brought many meaningful and practical activities to the operating areas in Ben Tre province and Ho Chi Minh City in the Green Summer campaign in 2024. The team operates continuously from July 8 to July 13, 2024, in Phuoc My Trung town, Mo Cay Bac district, Ben Tre province and from June 29 to July 21, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City.
In Ben Tre province, the team has carried out 03 youth projects, including: "Lighting up the countryside" project - building 12 solar-powered lamp posts on a 1,500m long alley; The project "Building a Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Civilized Road" - donating 10 public trash bins to the locality and the project "Love Water Tank" - donating 05 fresh water tanks to 05 households in the stationed area. The total cost of the above 03 projects is 44 million VND. The project "Lighting up the Country Roads" is the critical project of the team in this year's Green Summer campaign, with a total value of 24 million VND.

In addition to critical projects, the Environmental and New Rural Team also carried out activities to improve the quality of life of the people, including presenting 4 Health Insurance cards to people in difficult circumstances in the town. The team also visited and presented 15 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and family under preferential treatment policy. Each gift was worth 1 million VND.

In order to raise awareness among primary school students about environmental protection and water conservation, the team organized the "For the Environment" Festival at Phuoc My Trung Primary School with the participation of 200 students. At the festival, the team also awarded 18 "For Beloved Juniors" scholarships to 18 students under challenging circumstances.

In order to demonstrate the spirit of "When drinking water, remember its source", the team, together with the town delegation, visited and laid flowers at the Saigon - Gia Dinh Party Committee Base Relic and the Mo Cay Bac District Martyrs' Cemetery. Here, the teamhad the opportunity to review the heroic history of the nation, thereby reminding soldiers of their responsibilities in the cause of building and defending the Nation.

Following the Ben Tre front successes, the Environmental and New Rural Team responded to the peak days of the Green Summer campaign in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City. In particular, the team coordinated with the Ward 4 HCYU, District 8, HCMC to support doctors and nurses in examining people's health on the day; the team coordinated with the Phu Thanh Ward HCYU, Tan Phu District and the Linh Tay Ward HCYU, Thu Duc City to clear, remove illegal advertising signs and plant trees in neighbourhoods; and participated in humanitarian blood donation at the Tan Binh District Blood Donation Center.
It can be said that this year's "Green Season" has been a significant turning point in the implementation of the Green Summer campaign by the Environmental and New Rural Team over the years. Because this is the year when the student not only carry out tasks and projects related to their field of study but also carry out activities aimed at many groups of people and with many different values: from taking care of people's health, taking care of people's lives and children to activities of drinking water and remembering its source as well as supporting digital transformation in the town. In the coming years, the team will strive to bring meaningful tasks and projects to the operation areas, promoting the field of study and increasing the diversity of activities in the area.
