Seminar on "Basic issues in scientific research and publication" for students of the Faculty of Geography, course 2024-2028

 

On the afternoon of October 2nd, 2024, the Department of External Relations and Research Affairs organized a training session on “Basic issues in scientific research and publication” for students of the Faculty of Geography, course 2024-2028, at room A1 - 11, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM (Thu Duc campus).

he training session was successful, with the participation of representatives of:
- Dr. Hoang Ngoc Minh Chau - Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and Research Affairs
- Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Geography
- Dr. Tran Thi Mai Lien - Dean of the Faculty of Psychology

At the beginning of the training session, Dr. Tran Thi Mai Lien shared the content of “Overview of basic contents of scientific research” to the students. This content will help new students grasp the basic concepts, methodology, and research methods, as well as the process and ways to start conducting scientific research.

Next, the sharing from Dr. Hoang Ngoc Minh Chau - Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and Research Affairs on the content of "Scientific publication in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities" will help students visualize how to publish their scientific research products.

Then, intending to help students of the Faculty of Geography have specific ideas about scientific research topics in their major, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Geography, shared with students the content of "Introduction to student scientific research activities in the Faculty of Geography".

At the training session, new students of the Faculty of Geography directly exchanged and learned from the sharing of teachers and alumni with experience in scientific research.

Finally, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong shared about registering for scientific research.

With the dedicated guidance of teachers, we hope to form a solid foundation and help students be more confident in registering and implementing upcoming scientific research topics.
