
With the aim of exchanging, sharing, and supplementing knowledge and skills for clinical psychologists in Vietnam, the Faculty of Psychology in collaboration with Prof. Jacques Grégoire organized a short-term training course on "Clinical examination of children's intelligence using WISC-V and WPPSI-IV".
The course aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge, measurement psychology and necessary methods to best use the two Wechsler scales for children and adolescents, WPPSI-IV and WISC-V, and practice how to use the scales in clinical examination for children and adolescents.
Course details are as follows:
- Time: from April 22, 2025 to April 24, 2025. Morning from 9:00 to 12:00, afternoon from 13:00 to 16:00. There are a total of 6 sessions, 18 hours of study.
- Training format: Directly at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM (University Campus), 10-12 Dinh Tien Hoang, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1.
- Lecturer: Prof. Jacques Grégoire, professor of the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology, School of Psychology and Educational Sciences, Catholic University of Louvain.
Main content of the course:
- Session 1: Theoretical and psychometric foundations of the Wechsler scales; Using the Wechsler scales in clinical contexts;
- Session 2: What does the Flynn effect tell us about measuring intelligence; Differences in intelligence by gender and social environment;
- Session 3: Theory and practice of WISC-V (6 to 16 years old);
- Session 4: Case studies;
- Session 5: Theory and practice of WPPSI-IV (2 years 6 months to 7 years 8 months);
- Session 6: Case study; Summary.
Note: The course does not provide the WISC-V assessment tool and WISC-V assessment practice certificate.
