USSH Welcomed the Mexican Ambassador, Promoting Educational and Cultural Cooperation

On April 28, USSH, VNU-HCM, welcomed Mr. Alejandro Negrín, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mexico to Vietnam, and his delegation. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and promote cooperation in education and culture between the two countries.

The delegation from the Mexican Embassy in Vietnam included Ambassador Alejandro Negrín and Mr. Vu Minh Anh, Honorary Consul of Mexico in Ho Chi Minh City. Representing USSH, VNU-HCM, were Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President; Dr. Hoang Thi Trang, Deputy Director of the Office of External Relations and Research Affairs; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Italian Linguistics and Literature; Mr. Do Hyen Thanh, Head of the Faculty of Spanish Literature; and Ms. Bui Thu Hang, Director of the Library.

In his remarks, Ambassador Alejandro Negrín expressed his desire to strengthen academic cooperation with USSH. On this occasion, he also presented the university with a collection of Mexican literary works published by the Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE), thereby enriching the university’s academic resources and fostering cultural exchange.

In response, Dr. Le Hoang Dung highlighted that, in addition to the university's longstanding appreciation for the Spanish language, USSH places significant emphasis on Mexican culture. He regarded it as a pivotal component in enriching the university's academic and cultural exchange activities. He further underscored that fostering stronger bilateral relations would facilitate a deeper mutual understanding of both cultures and educational values, particularly in the context of economic development.

During the meeting, USSH lecturers engaged in discussions with Ambassador Alejandro Negrín about the opportunities and potential for educational cooperation between Vietnam and Mexico, exploring ways to strengthen academic and cultural ties between the two nations.

USSH held a successful working session with Ambassador Alejandro Negrín and the Mexican delegation, focusing on strengthening educational and cultural cooperation. The meeting not only marked a significant step forward in the relationship between USSH and the Mexican Embassy but also reinforced the university’s leading role in academic diplomacy.
