USSH VNUHCM Signs Cooperation Agreement with Korea IT Cooperation Center

On June 11, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, (USSH VNUHCM), together with the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA) and its Korea IT Cooperation Center (KICC) in Ho Chi Minh City, officially signed a Cooperation Agreement under the Korea IT School 2025 – IT Communicator Program.

This event marked a significant milestone in the growing partnership between the two institutions, creating new opportunities for students to access technological knowledge and expand their future career prospects.

Attending the event were Mr. Kim Young Hoon, Director of KICC; Ms. Shin Hwagyeong and Ms. Chung Bội Nhi, Program Managers. Representing USSH VNUHCM were Prof. Dr. Ngô Thị Phương Lan, President of the University; Dr. Trần Anh Tiến, Head of External Relations and Research Management; Dr. Hoàng Thị Trang, Deputy Head of the same office; Dr. Phạm Thanh Duy, Head of Administration; Dr. Cao Thị Châu Thủy, Head of Academic Affairs; and representatives from various departments.

In her remarks, Prof. Dr. Ngô Thị Phương Lan emphasized that the agreement was the result of productive collaboration between the two sides and reflected USSH VNUHCM’s ongoing commitment to innovating its academic programs, promoting global integration, and aligning with real-world demands.

She highlighted that working together with KICC would open doors for students to access advanced information technology, particularly in the context of rapid digital transformation. “This program represents an ideal integration of language and technology training,” she stated. “It equips students not only with solid expertise but also with the adaptability and competence to thrive in international and high-tech work environments.”

In response, Mr. Kim Young Hoon expressed appreciation for USSH VNUHCM’s strong cooperation and goodwill in advancing the project. He noted that the training program is part of a broader strategy to expand a bilingual IT workforce network across Southeast Asia, especially in Vietnam. “With USSH VNUHCM’s high-quality Korean language education and our technical support from Korea,” he said, “I believe the program will equip students with well-rounded capabilities to work in professional, multicultural IT environments.”

With the agreement now in effect, USSH VNUHCM and KICC will collaborate to implement the Korea-Vietnam IT Communicator Program 2025. Key components include foundational IT knowledge training, practical problem-solving based on real-world business cases, and skills assessment using TOPCIT (Test of Practical Competency in IT), an industry-standard benchmark. Participants who complete the program will receive certification from NIPA, which will also help connect them with employment opportunities at Korean IT companies based in Ho Chi Minh City and nearby regions.

As part of its mission to link high-quality human resources with the tech industry, NIPA is actively delivering training and technology transfer programs in Vietnam through partnerships with leading universities. Notably, NIPA and KICC will sponsor the full training costs and provide participant support. USSH VNUHCM will also co-manage the program, provide facilities, and assist with outreach, admissions, and student selection.
