Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lưu Văn Quyết Appointed Vice President of USSH, VNUHCM

On June 3, 2025, the Director of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), issued Decision No. 683/QĐ-ĐHQG appointing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lưu Văn Quyết, current Dean of the Faculty of History, USSH, VNU-HCM, as Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), VNUHCM.

Born in 1980 in Nam Định, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lưu Văn Quyết has dedicated over two decades to the institution. He earned his Bachelor's degree (2004) and Master's degree (2007) in Vietnamese History at USSH and completed his PhD in History at Beijing Normal University, China, in 2015. In 2022, he was conferred the title of Associate Professor in History.

Since beginning his teaching career at the Faculty of History in 2004, he has continually advanced in both academic and administrative roles. He served as Vice Dean (2015–2018), Dean (2018–present), and Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic and National Policy Studies (2017–2023).

He has also held key roles throughout his career, including Secretary of the Party Cell of the Faculty of History (since 2017); a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of USSH, VNUHCM’s Party Committee (since 2020); and Chairman of USSH, VNU-HCM’s Trade Union (since 2020). This has affirmed both his leadership capacity and the confidence that the University’s staff has for him.

With a strong academic background, dedication to teaching, and proven leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lưu Văn Quyết is expected to continue making significant contributions to the development of USSH, VNUHCM.
