USSH, VNU-HCM Welcomes Indian NCC Delegation: Strengthening Vietnam–India Youth Friendship
On June 25, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH, VNU-HCM) welcomed a delegation from the Indian National Cadet Corps (NCC) as part of a Vietnam–India youth exchange program. The visit aimed to enhance cross-cultural understanding and foster stronger bonds between the youth of both nations.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union. On behalf of USSH, VNU-HCM, there was Dr. Le Hoang Dung, Vice President; Dr. Hoang Thi Trang, Deputy Head of the Office of External Relations and Science Management; Dr. Van Kim Hoang Ha, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Mr. Nguyen Huynh Minh Phuc, Secretary of the University Youth Union; Mr. Lai Duy Long, Deputy Secretary; and Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, President of the Student Union. On behalf of the Indian Cadet Corps, there was Mr. Sandeep Verma, Brigadier General, Head of the Indian NCC, Head of the delegation, along with delegates from many youth units, students of India.
Dr. Le Hoang Dung expressed his honor in hosting the delegation and hoped the exchange would serve as a foundation for meaningful youth cooperation. Brigadier Verma in return praised the warm reception and emphasized the role of youth exchanges in fostering mutual trust and long-term friendship between nations

As part of the program, Dr. Van Kim Hoang Ha introduced the Indian Studies major, which offers training in language, culture, politics, and foreign relations of India. She also shared the program’s goal of preparing graduates with both academic knowledge and practical career opportunities in social sciences and international relations

Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Huynh Minh Phuc highlighted the university’s signature student activities such as Spring Volunteer Campaign, Green Summer, and academic initiatives like Hoa Mai Xanh and themed competitions. The Double Wave Cultural Week, which features rich Vietnamese cultural experiences, left a particularly strong impression on the NCC delegation.

The Indian cadets presented an overview of India’s history, geography, and diverse cultural heritage. The atmosphere grew lively with traditional Indian dance performances and a standout performance of the Vietnamese hit “Bống Bống Bang Bang,” which added a joyful cultural twist and was met with enthusiastic cheers.

The meeting concluded with a gift exchange and a group photo session. The delegation also toured the campus and visited the traditional space, continuing their journey of discovery and engagement with Vietnamese youth. The visit not only strengthened the Vietnam–India youth friendship, but also opened meaningful opportunities for long-term cooperation in education, culture, and youth engagement.
