Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanakorn Sawangcharoen, Rector of BSRU, expressed his delight at reconnecting with USSH leadership after a hiatus caused by the pandemic. He highlighted the 2009 MoU as a foundation for successful initiatives such as short-term Vietnamese language programs for Thai students, Vietnamese lecturers teaching at BSRU, and other cultural exchange events, while expressing hope for a new, more detailed MoU.

During the meeting, both sides discussed future cooperation directions, proposing short-term bilateral student exchanges (10–20 days) centered on language learning and cultural immersion. Potential areas for collaboration included joint postgraduate training, bilateral conferences, co-hosting Vietnamese language proficiency exams in Thailand, and broader cultural exchange activities. These align with each institution’s strengths and strategic focus on regional integration and multilingual workforce development. Additionally, USSH representatives also underscored the importance of clearly defining implementation responsibilities in the revised MoU.

Regarding language use, both universities agreed to encourage students to study each other’s languages and to adopt English as the common academic medium in specialized activities outside of language studies. This initiative aims to foster broader access among students and enhance international engagement.
