Announcement regarding the "Overcoming Adversity, Excelling in Studies" scholarship project for female students by the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Intellectual Women

Dear students,

To create opportunities and support the studies of female students in difficult circumstances, the University is implementing the "Overcoming Adversity, Excelling in Studies" scholarship project of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Intellectual Women, funded by the Saigon Children’s Charity CIO (UK), specifically as follows:

1. Number of scholarships

Total: 15 scholarships, including:

- 09 scholarships for new students of the 2025 - 2026 cohort;

- 03 scholarships for students of the 2024 - 2025 cohort;

- 03 scholarships for students of the 2023 - 2024 cohort.

2. Scholarship value and benefits

- Scholarship value: 13,983,000 VND/scholarship/academic year, supported over two semesters:

+ Semester 1: 8,000,000 VND;

+ Semester 2: 5,983,000 VND.

- Benefits: Students are eligible to participate in soft skills training, camps, and social activities.

3. Duration of scholarship support

Students receive the scholarship from the time of successful registration until the final year of their course, provided they maintain good academic results and fully comply with the scholarship regulations.

4. Selection criteria

- Must be a female student currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program at the University;

- Must be in difficult family circumstances (household with an average monthly income per capita of under 3,000,000 VND);

- Must have good academic performance (GPA from 7.0/10 or 3.0/4.0); for first-year students, academic results are based on 12th-grade transcripts;

- Must have the determination to pursue studies to the end;

- Not simultaneously receiving any other scholarship with similar support duration and value during the period of receiving the "Overcoming Adversity, Excelling in Studies" scholarship.

5. Scholarship regulations

- Participation in annual meetings: Students are required to attend two annual meetings (Semester 1 between Oct 22 and Nov 15; Semester 2 between Jan 22 and Feb 28). If unable to attend for a valid reason, students must notify the project coordinator via email, message, Zalo, or phone call to request permission and explain the specific reason.

- Submission of full transcripts on time: Students must submit completed transcripts for Semester 1 before June 30 and Semester 2 before December 30; transcripts must bear the University's seal.

* Note: If students do not have their transcripts by the deadline, they must contact the project coordinator to explain and request an extension.

- Participation in soft skills training: Students are required to participate in at least one (01) soft skill training topic per academic year; additionally, students are encouraged to participate in other capacity-building activities organized by the project to expand their social network and increase skills; in case students cannot arrange time to participate, they must notify the project coordinator.

- Students must maintain good academic standing.

6. Criteria for discontinuation of support

- Partial discontinuation: Students violating any of the above regulations for the first time will be reminded; for a second violation, students will not receive the scholarship for that semester.

- Full discontinuation:

+ Failure to maintain good academic performance for two (02) consecutive semesters;

+ Failure to comply with project regulations for two (02) consecutive times;

+ Complete loss of contact with the project;

+ Receiving another similar scholarship;

+ Transferring schools;

+ The student’s family situation has improved and can afford educational expenses independently.

7. Registration profile

- One portrait photo taken within the last 6 months (name the photo format: CD - Student ID - Full Name - University Name);

- One photo of the entire house (name the photo format: HCGĐ – NC - Student ID - Full Name - University Name);

- One photo of the living room space (name the photo format: HCGĐ – PK - Student ID - Full Name - University Name);

- One photo of the kitchen space (name the photo format: HCGĐ – PB - Student ID - Full Name - University Name);

- One photo of the poverty/near-poverty certificate or confirmation of poverty status (if any, name the photo format: GXN - Student ID - Full Name - University Name);

- One photo of the most recent academic transcript with the University's seal (name the photo format: KQHT - Student ID - Full Name - University Name).

8. Application method

- Online registration via the link: https://forms.gle/GvtrSw4yxYHyufyZ7;

- Registration deadline: before 17:00 on September 18, 2025 (Thursday);

The University will screen and nominate eligible students for the project; the project will interview all nominated students to select the final list of scholarship recipients.
