Vibrant Orientation Week for the Class of 2025 at USSH VNUHCM
From August 26 to 29, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National Universtity Ho Chi Minh City (USSH VNUHCM) held its orientation and enrollment week for the incoming Class of 2025 across both Saigon and Linh Xuân campuses. The event welcomed thousands of new students from the Standard Program, International Program, and International Joint Program, marking the start of their academic and campus journey at USSH.

On August 26, the enrollment process for International Program students took place at the Saigon Campus. The morning session welcomed students majoring in Chinese, German, English, and Journalism, followed by a lively afternoon as students in Tourism and Travel Management, International Relations, and Japanese Studies officially completed their procedures.

From August 27 to 29, Standard Program enrollment was conducted at the Linh Xuân campus. On August 27, a large number of language students—including those in Education, English, Russian, French, Japanese, Chinese, German, and Korean—arrived, creating a bustling atmosphere from the very first hours.

On August 28, the spotlight turned to the social sciences and humanities majors: Philosophy, Psychology, History, Anthropology, Sociology, Vietnamese Studies, and Geography. Many students expressed feelings of excitement mixed with nervousness as they officially became part of the USSH community.
On August 29, orientation week concluded with the enrollment of students in Oriental Studies, Archival Studies, Information Management, Library and Information Science, Journalism, Multimedia Communication, International Studies, and Urban Studies. With the dedicated support of faculty, staff, and student volunteers, all procedures ran smoothly and efficiently.
Media Communication freshman Võ Ngọc Sa Sa shared her passion for social sciences, a dream nurtured since childhood. Choosing USSH VNUHCM for its strong tradition in the field, she expressed confidence that the university would provide the ideal environment for both learning and personal growth. Sa Sa was especially impressed by the welcoming campus atmosphere and said she hoped her four years here would feel like living in a second home.

For parents, the experience was equally reassuring. Ms. Vòng Mỹ Yến, whose daughter Tô Thanh Hằng enrolled in Information Management, praised the warm support offered by both faculty and student volunteers. She noted her satisfaction with the guidance provided at every step, from completing paperwork to tuition payment, which gave parents peace of mind in entrusting their children to the university.

Beyond administrative procedures, orientation week featured cultural performances, souvenir photo sessions, check-in activities with gifts, and introductions to student clubs and organizations. These activities created a lively and welcoming atmosphere, helping freshmen quickly integrate into their new environment.
The 2025 orientation week concluded successfully, opening an exciting chapter of study and exploration for the newest generation of USSH VNUHCM students. More than just an enrollment event, it was a vibrant celebration of the university’s dynamic, connected, and spirited student community.
