VNU-USSH (Hanoi) and USSH, VNU-HCM held 2025 Joint Conference
On August 15, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Hanoi (VNU-USSH), and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH, VNU-HCM) convened their annual Joint Conference under the theme “The Role of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Era of National Development”.
This year’s conference, co-chaired by Prof. Dr. Lại Quốc Khánh (VNU-USSH) and Dr. Phan Thanh Định (USSH, VNU-HCM), gathered leaders, faculty, and staff from both institutions.
The meeting was co-chaired by Prof. Dr. Lại Quốc Khánh, Vice Rector of VNU-USSH, and Dr. Phan Thanh Định, Vice Rector of USSH, VNU-HCM.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Lại Quốc Khánh reviewed the achievements of cooperation between the two universities during the 2024-2025 academic year. Notable outcomes included effective collaboration in training, scientific research, and quality assurance; multiple faculty and student exchanges; participation in independent review boards and doctoral dissertation evaluation committees.
In particular, during the 2024-2025 academic year, both universities co-organized numerous national and international academic conferences, shared expertise, and fostered joint authorship and international publications.
Prof. Dr. Lại Quốc Khánh emphasized that these achievements were made possible thanks to the shared spirit of “Consensus, Cooperation, Unity, Alliance”.
At the conference, representatives presented their progress on training, digital transformation, scientific research, and other student affairs, while highlighting challenges and further discussing solutions.

Both universities reaffirmed their commitment to joint cooperation and development in strengthening the pioneering role of both institutions in education, research, and community service.
